...and gave it a 8.5.

Oracle of Ages was a GBA game released alongside Oracle of Seasons which I already reviewed and both games are very similar in terms of gameplay and graphics so this review might sound a bit redundant.

Link travels to the temple where the Triforce is being kept to check on it and no sooner does he arrive but he is teleported to the land of Labrynna where he meets up with Impa who takes him to meet Nayru but it turns out Impa was possessed by an evil Sorceress named Veran in order to get to Nayru. First of all kudos to this one for having a female villain. Veran then teleports herself into the past to control Queen Ambi in order to build a giant tower to take over the land and alter the present. Yeah this one has the slightly more complicated story.

Much like Ocarina, this game's hook is the ability to travel between past and present. Link gets the Harp of Ages and at first, you can only teleport on certain spots but eventually you'll be able to freely time travel anytime. However this time jumping can make for some perplexing puzzles and all too often I found myself confused as to which time period it was.

Oracle of Ages is much more puzzle heavy than it's counterpart and you may find yourself stumped numerous times trying to figure out if you need to be in the present or past. Thank God for gamefaqs.

Still both Oracle Zelda games are worth playing for any Zelda fan but you do need both games for the full experience, even though it involves entering a lot of overly complex passwords and you'd think with the ability to download both on the 3DS now, they might have found an easier way around it.
